With the approval of the government, LMRC was reconstituted as a single SPV and renamed "Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd" (UPMRC) in order to carry out the purpose of implementing Metro Rail projects in various cities throughout the state of Uttar Pradesh.
