|
Description |
Between Mangalore and Mumbai, the nation's financial center, there was a gap that the Konkan Railway filled. The 741-kilometer line runs through a region of winding rivers, deep valleys, and lofty mountains in the states of Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka. The Sahyadri hills on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west define the coastal region known as the Konkan. It is a place where mythology coexists with economic development. It is also a place with abundant mineral resources, a dense canopy of trees, and a landscape dotted with paddy, coconut, and mango trees.
