How To Become A Scientist In ISRO: Step by Step Procedure

Step-by-Step Instructions on How to Become a Scientist at ISRO
ISRO usually hires people who have the right knowledge and skills in the fields of astronomy, physics, and math. This can be done directly or through the CRB exam. Here is a complete list of what you need to learn and how you need to specialize to become a scientist at ISRO.

Step 1

At  10+2 level of secondary education, students must take three subjects: mathematics, physics, and chemistry. They should be very competent and know a lot about both physical and mathematical ideas.

Step 2

After passing higher secondary school with a high CGPA or percentage (above 75%), students should sign up for one of the many engineering branches through JEE Advanced and JEE mains. Students must get a BTech or BE in fields like mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science engineering, electronics engineering, electrical engineering, engineering physics, radio engineering, and other related fields.

Step 3

The third step to becoming a scientist at ISRO is to take the ISRO  Centralized Recruitment Board (ICRB) exam after getting your B Tech/BE degree. To take this exam, a candidate must have a B Tech or BE degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, or a related field with a minimum of 65% marks or 6.8 CGPA on a scale of 10. After passing the test, the people who are still in the running have to take a written test and an interview before they can join the organization.

ISRO prefers to hire new graduates from the best engineering schools in India, like IISc, IITs, NIT, IIST, and other well-known public and private schools. One benefit of getting an engineering degree from IIST is that it is easy for a student with good grades to be accepted into the organization.

You can also become a scientist at ISRO if you have a Masters (MSc, ME, or MTech) and a PhD in a related field.

ISRO scientists and engineers can be in different grades, which affects how much money they get each month. Scientists and engineers in the Indian space agency are given grades or ranks like SC, SD, SE, or SG. These grades also show how long a scientist or engineer has been in the field. SC is the starting grade for a new engineer who just finished school. Scientists and engineers are eligible for an interview after they have worked in the same place for four years. When a person passes it, they become Scientist/Engineer-SD.
After SC and SD, there are higher levels like SE, SF, SG, G, and H. Outstanding Scientist and Distinguished Scientist are the highest levels.
