Army Ordnance Corps
Army Ordnance Corps is responsible to provide logistics support to the Indian Army during war and peace.
Function
The logistics section of the Army Ordnance Corps is responsible for all aspects of raising and maintaining a successful combat army. These tasks include the supply and acquisition of all supplies. The objective is to supply each and every military unit with the appropriate sort of supplies at the appropriate time, in the appropriate quantity, at the appropriate place, and at the appropriate cost. The inventory contains all of the ammo, with the exception of fuel, fodder, and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, it contains any item that a soldier would require, including clothing, armament, and anything from a needle to a tank. The functions of provisioning, procurement, reception, accounting, storage, issue, transportation, and disposal of all apparel, equipment, weapons, vehicles, ammunition, and spare parts are included in inventory management. Inventory management functions also include provisioning, procurement, and reception. It is not a simple endeavour to manage one of the largest and most complicated logistics operations in the world.

In Year 1875 Board of Ordnance Constituted in Bengal Presidency, Ordnance is born. Further , in year 1884 Amalgamation of Three Presidencies to create Ordnance Department in India took place. On 01 April 1884, First Director General of Ordnance (DGO) on India was appointed.
